Support Ms. Laccetti's classroom with a gift that fosters learning.
A child's learning environment can directly impact their academic achievement. Different students need different things when learning, and this applies to their classroom environment as much as it does to their academic tasks. I strongly believe in the benefits of a student centered classroom that is designed to meet the learning needs of all students. Flexible seating helps to make a classroom more collaborative and engaging and is differentiated and fun for students. It also allows students to work away from distractions in the classroom. A student can choose to go to an area in the room that is quieter and allows for more privacy. In contrast, students who choose to work collaboratively on a task may decide to sit together at a lap desk. The possibilities are endless and a teacher can decide how to manage the seating options to best support all students while still allowing them a great amount of choice.
The items I have selected for this project will allow me to increase student engagement and subsequently improve academic achievement among my students. The varied seating options allow students to make choices based on their learning style. Flexible seating will allow to choose where to work and change their location and positions as needed. The standing desk will be helpful for students who have a difficult time staying seating for extended periods of time. The bean bag, saucer chair and recliner will give students comfortable seating options to read or complete work independently. The clipboards will allow students to take there work with them at any of the searing options. The greatest thing about flexible seating is that students can choose the learning environment that they need for that specific time and task.
