The students need to get their hands on the book to dig in and study the characters in our Character Study Unit. The kids need to have the book in their hands to practice the skills and strategies I teach with the mini-lessons. They will use the books to find text evidence to support their theories about the characters' traits and motivations. Our goal is to get the students to dig deeper into their thinking to become more critical thinkers. We will study themes, character traits, and compare characters. They will analyze characters and learn to relate to the characters they study.
