I will be moving into a new classroom this year and will be building a classroom library from scratch. With these books, I will be able to provide my students with age appropriate literature, centered around meaningful themes. I've selected a few crowd favorites, like Pete the Cat, and Skippyjon Jones, for my library as well as some other books that focus on topics such as kindness and mindfulness. Students who are in first grade are still learning how to identify their emotions, how to get along with others, and how to be problem solvers. Meaningful books are a necessary tool used in my classroom to help encourage thoughtfulness and compassion among my students.
