My students require plenty of support and counsel in order to access the curriculum. Whenever they need to take some space or chill out they could really use a comfortable inviting place to make that possible. Bean bags and light filters, stress toys and furniture that allows for movement are all amazing tools to help re-regulate an upset or emotional student. Or even a student that NEEDS to move. Students with emotional and behavioral disabilities really just need a space they can feel safe within. They need to know when things get rough there is a comfortable place to get themselves back together and that there are tools available to help them do that.
