My students love learning and diving into books. During the last few weeks of school, we are able to do a book study and really analyze a book. Having a class set of books would greatly help accomplish this. In my years of teaching 4th grade, I've found that my students really enjoy reading The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe. It introduces them to alternate worlds and to a series of books they end up really enjoying. I find them checking out the books from the school library. With book studies, we can also practice skills without them necessarily knowing we are.
