We are requesting beanbag chairs and a rug which will provide a comfortable, quiet space where students can learn that there is more to science than test tubes and math. Through reading activities I hope to open new avenues of discovery. I want to provide a space for them to explore their particular curiosity by providing a relaxed atmosphere with a variety of reading materials. In addition the new furniture will provide a quiet area for students that sometimes need a little break. I teach a very diverse group with diverse needs, and an active classroom of 30 students can be a little overwhelming.
