Every student in our Project Lit will receive a book that they can take home and keep. They are able to read the books at home before our weekly meetings so that they can come ready to discuss with their peers. These specific books are SO important for our students because they can connect with the characters, storylines, and themes. Far too often, our students have been required to read books that they find no relevance in. Project Lit is a way to increase the culture of literacy at the school and show students that reading can be fun and transformative. It is truly amazing to see the students' excitement when they discover they get to keep the book forever.

About my class
