I am blessed to work with amazing orchestra students each and every day! They come from many different walks of life but blend together to become an integral part of a larger ensemble and family. Our 6th through 8th-grade public school serves a transient community. Our poverty rate is 60% and free/reduced lunch rate is almost 50%. Our students work in the classroom, exercising their 21st century skills. Within this framework of the 21st century classroom, it is important for students to utilize their soft skills at every opportunity. It is important to ensure that students are using a classroom and instruments that are in the best condition possible.
