I teach K-4 General Music at Wrightstown Elementary School in Wrightstown, Wisconsin. Wrightstown is a rural school district located between Green Bay and Appleton. Approximately 475 students with an average class size of 23 students attend school here. These students come from different backgrounds with portions of the district covering nine municipalities. I am looking to fund a ukulele project for the school, and pair it with the current recorder curriculum. Music is important for 21st century learners. Learning the ukulele helps improve gross and fine motor skills with holding and strumming. Students learn to be part of a community of performers, and the skills learned on the ukulele can easily be transferred to guitar. Please help us fund this project and our goal of having a classroom set of ukuleles!
