Having a color printer and ink in my classroom will help provide my students with access to more wonderful learning materials that can be printed on the spot to supplement my lessons as needed. Currently, with limited access to printing at work, I tend to use reusable materials that can wipe clean or erase. While this is fine for the most part, my students deserve to have their own unique worksheets, crafts, and other printables that they can keep forever. Additionally, having a printer in the room will allow me to quickly print references and follow-up skill activities for the children to take home and share with their caregivers. As a speech-language and reading provider, I have requested a set of decodable short stories that align with the Orton-Gillingham approach. These short stories are engaging and motivating, giving students the opportunity to read a whole book that is accessible given their present levels.
