Hello! I am a ninth grade biology teacher in the suburbs of Houston, TX. I am a first year teacher and I am looking to find a classroom pet that will intrigue my students and hopefully spark their interest into the wonderful world of biology! I have been graciously gifted a pair of rats from a local breeder here in Houston and I am needing to get a home for these little guys! Their donation program is designed to give students a chance to interact with an amazing animal which most people consider to be a nuscence. Unfortunately creating their cage was a little bit more pricey than my teacher budget can afford so any help will be MUCH appreciated! Having a live animal in the classroom is beneficial in SO many ways. They can be tied into almost all biology content in some way or another and at the same time teach students about responsibility and compassion along the way. Thank you so much for considering to fund my project. My students and I very much appreciate it!
