Hands on activity centers will make my Kindergartners feel they are accountable for their own learning. At a young age students learn best with activities that are fun and engaging. As a school we focus in building literacy skills that are foundational for being a good reader. Materials with sight words will make my English Language Learners learn to read at a faster pace. My goal is to emphasize essential skills such as letter recognition, and sounds in centers so I can then help them with their reading comprehension and fluency. On the other hand, the expectation for Kindergarten is that students have foundational skills needed for upper grades. Those skills that are essential are in number recognition/ number quantities, and basic problem solving skills. For example, with the number oven students will will be able to count and recognize the number as they place it inside the oven. The addition flip and solve board will be a fun and an entertaining activity where my Kindergartners will be able to master addition and solve solutions. Currently, I place worksheets during activity centers in where they are able to practice the skills and standards that are required, however Lakeshore learning materials will make my students be engaged and love learning even more. Please help me add fun and engaging activities into my classroom, all my English Learners will definitely benefit from having engaging centers and activities!
