I want my classroom to be fun and engaging so that students are excited to come to school and learn. My classroom does not have a rug where my students sit during group reading/activities, such as morning meetings. This would also provide an alternative to sitting at their desks during independent study times. A spinning wheel will be used in a variety of ways in the classroom, such as calling on students to participate, spinning for prizes/rewards, sentence starters/prompts, or grouping students. Students will be earning "money" for various jobs, activities, behaviors, etc. based on our PBIS matrix. The claw machine will be one option for the students to spend their hard-earned "money" and is an alternative to the treasure box for rewards and incentives in the classroom.
