Our school is in the process of updating our Industrial Technology offerings for our students. The first step taken was to hire a full time teacher with a varied background in STEM and Vocational training. New class offerings include Civil Engineering, Metal Fabrication, Woodworking, Construction Trades and Small Gas Engine repair. The District has purchased new equipment for students to use in training and exposure to various Technical careers. Items purchased include a vertical mill, metal lathe and tooling, 3D printer, CNC router, box and pan brake, wood surfacer, surveying equipment, and various welding equipment. This equipment is of industry standard and will give students real life experiences. The last step is purchase the tooling needed for the vertical milling machine. We need the collet chucks and cutter bits necessary to machine metal. Students will learn the processes of face milling, cutting a keyway and drilling and power tapping.
