I believe that my students will see part of themselves in this lovely novel, Mas alla de mi. My hope is that they will realize that they are capable of achieving anything that they desire if they work "smarter", not "harder". It is my passion to give them the skill of true bi literacy! They are our leaders of tomorrow! Through discussions and analysis of the novel, students will understand that we all have challenges in our lives that we can overcome with perseverance. There could not be a better role model to deliver this message than Francisco Jimenez- a Mexican immigrant who is now a college professor.
