The most important part of all learning is reading. You have to be a fluent reader to read story problems in math, or read a story about history, and even science experiments. Our students are working very hard to improve their reading fluency. However, their books are very old, falling apart and even missing pages! Comprehending the story is tough when the book has no binding or portions missing. New books would replace what we currently have. Students who are easily distracted lose all focus when their cover falls off, or there are pages missing or not bound to the rest of the story book. My previous classes have asked for replaced books, and this is the year I'm determined to make it happen.
