My students are brave, creative, respectful, enthusiastic, competitive, independent and insightful thinkers. They want to learn problem-solving skills, test-taking skills, and strategies to increase their math fluency. The Chromebooks allow them to watch videos on how to solve new math problems. They give the students immediate feedback on their responses. When answered successfully, my students are rewarded with points and continue to advance to the next problem. If a question is answered incorrectly, my students have an opportunity to self-correct by attempting to solve a similar problem. They gain an increase in independence and self-esteem. In addition, the Chromebooks allow the students to work together and solve math problems collaboratively. The students are responsible for their own learning. As the teacher, I support them by providing structure and guidelines for them to be successful math students.
