My students would love to study Frankenstein, The Giver, The Importance of Being Earnest, and do independent reading in the bean bag chairs and yoga balls. They love to get comfortable and read. Plus this kind of seating allows students who have trouble sitting still in traditional seats to be able to move without distracting others.
I want to do everything I can to encourage my students to love reading a book. Students need to be able to read in a comfortable setting. I don't want them to think that reading is a punishment. That's why I would like to provide them with beanbags and yoga balls to use when reading and working in small groups. One of the most popular series in my class library is the Curse Worker Series by Holly Black, and it is time to replace those.
Additionally, I am asking for hanging files and file folders that students use as mailboxes for returned work and a communication station, as well as colored paper that students use for projects and foldables.
