This ETA hand2mind Daily Math Fluency Kit with Number Strings will continue to help build a strong foundation in mathematics which we work toward daily. We do many story problems to practice different skills assisting students to become more efficient and flexible in their thinking. Students' confidence in their math abilities improves greatly as their fact fluency increases. We often discuss how to solve the problems and how the students arrive at their answer. We are not just looking for the students to become efficient and build speed as they answer math problems but to focus on accuracy and flexibililty (thinking about the number in differenent ways). Math fluency is helping students realize there is more than one way to arrive at the answer which builds their math efficiency (getting to the answer quickly while being accurate). It increases their flexibility and broadens their thinking. Fact fluency combines efficiency, flexibility, accuracy, and confidence that this fluency kit will help enhance.
