One day, due to inclement weather, we had inside recess. I passed out different manipulatives for students to play with, and I noticed one group using one-inch cubes to build different structures. At first, students were just stacking blocks on top of each other. Then two students started building pyramids and different buildings. When I asked them about the toys they have at home, only few of them mentioned building toys like LEGO. Preparing students for the future requires providing lots of experience to develop creativity and building skills. Therefore, my students really need materials in the classroom that will allow them to explore and learn at the same time. With your donation of STEM engineering and building sets, connecting cubes and headphones, my students will expand their creativity and mind power.
