In Kindergarten, speaking and listening is a critical skill that students need to master. As an educator, it is challenging to get to every student and assess how well they can speak and listen on a regular basis. Fortunately, with Chromebooks and apps like Seesaw, students have the opportunity to listen to recordings and record their own voice. This allows them to demonstrate their knowledge, listen to fluent reading, show their thinking, and practice language skills like speaking in complete sentences! However, I can't have 24 Chromebooks playing at the same time without headphones. Students can use the headphones to personalize their listening experience, replay instructions, adjust volume, etc. Additionally, with 24 kids talking at once, there is bound to be a lot of background noise. Microphones will not only get students excited to speak, but will ensure I get the best audio quality as I listen to my students tell me what they know!
