Through Bok Academy North's charge for energy conservation, students will gain a better understanding of energy, renewable and nonrenewable, and develop a passion for energy conservation for their future and for generations to come (science and research). Students will use energy testing kits to test their homes and our school. Once students have collected their data, they will create plans to conserve energy in their homes and our school (math). They will lead the charge and test the energy in other homes and schools in our community and help develop plans for energy conservation. Beyond building awareness for energy conservation and putting plans in motion, students could be the architects of a possible new STEM lab for our own school that would have the capability of sustaining itself through renewable energy. I envision professionals partnering with our students to help design a blueprint. Our school, community, and worldwide goal would be to establish lifelong energy conservers.
