This donation would help to give my students a variety of books to choose from when I create my reading groups. Research shows that when students are able to choose their books to read, they will become better readers. Using these books for my guided reading groups, would provide for more engaging instruction and more in depth student discussions. While I meet with students to discuss their book my other students will be independently reading a self selected book. With a variety of book options, I won't have to worry about students being off task because they will be engaged in their book.
