In the last couple of years as a teacher I have noticed that more and more students have both the internet at home and smart phones. The youth of today has grown up with technology in their hands but yet it isn't that way in our schools! Certain schools have not allowed students to use their smart phones in the classroom because of the potential distraction it could create. However, recently my school has allowed students to use their phones for educational purposes. They have been able to play review games such as Kahoot!, define words, and research content specific information. However, when it comes to using computers in the classroom the students struggle! These Chromebooks will allow my students to become tech savvy. Rather than using their phones they will have Chromebooks at their disposal. They can play and create review games! They can research and create a PowerPoint presentation, write papers, be apart of a Google Classroom. They will be able to enter the ever-evolving 21st century of education and be equal with their peers across the state and country.
