Last summer, I took a math webinar with Christina Tondevold. I hoped it would provide me with a better understanding of math for my first graders, as well as a better way to teach it. I came away truly inspired and ready to go back to school to try out all that I had learned. My students this year are truly inspiring mathematicians and I love teaching Math now! When I saw the video that Christina sent, I knew that I had to have one of ETA's Hand2Mind Daily Math Fluency Kits. Our school goal is to increase number sense. This kit will help my students have multiple ways to construct and explore numbers everyday. They will use the materials to explore and build a variety of ways to make 5 & 10; they will learn subitizing. Finally, they will be able to turn & talk and have math discussions.
