Alternative to Expulsion is a program designed to give students the chance to continue learning despite being expelled. We all make mistakes, and that fact holds true when it comes to our young people. In many school districts, students who make a poor choice leading to expulsion are forced out of the district for at least one calendar year. In this instance, students are away from the classroom and miss important curriculum and social development. Our program allows students to earn a second chance by completing up to 45 days with us, and they continue learning in a classroom environment throughout the program. This standing activity table will offer our students with ADHD, special education needs, and those with a need for fidgets and movement to learn, grow, and thrive in the classroom so they can successfully return to their general education schools. Our students have made poor choices before coming to our program, but they still deserve to learn in a positive environment. Their success depends on educators finding innovative ways to encourage them to engage in the classroom.
