The purpose of the Daily Fluency Kits is to provide large manipulatives to teach key concepts. There is a teacher guide that contains 180 days of activities that cover the skills of making 5/10, subitizing, counting on and back, and using doubles. There are also anchor charts to post in the room that match what we are covering. There are also materials to hold number talks, where students come up with the answers and state their reasoning, instead of being told the answer and procedures. The Daily Math Fluency Kit will increase my student's math reasoning skills and concepts about numbers. I will first use the kit in my whole group as we teach the skill. Then as students are still needing more work on the skill, I will use the materials in small groups.
