Our carpet area is where most of our learning takes place and where we connect with one another. Each day begins with calendar and morning meeting at the carpet. Throughout the day, we continue to meet at the carpet for whole-group instruction in most subject areas including reading, writing, math, social studies, and science. We also use the carpet area to listen to read-alouds. This new rug will provide my students with a bright, cozy, and welcoming area for learning and growing! Having this rug will create an inviting atmosphere to help my students feel excited about coming together to learn. The colored squares on the carpet will provide my students with their own personal space and it allows for students to know where they will be sitting. In addition, the letters and pictures around the carpet will assist students in learning their letters and sounds.
