The purpose of the Zen Den is to provide a safe place for our students who have experienced significant traumatic experiences to come and decompress. Students of trauma are often in a state of dysregulation and this room provides a space specifically designed to help students learn how to de-escalate and regulate their emotions. It is also provides a place where students are taught evidence based social-emotional and behavioral lessons through the Second Step Social Emotional Learning curriculum, thus the importance for the television to help stream our lessons. Lessons will be taught on Wednesdays and Thursdays throughout the course of the school year.
