These quilting supplies will give my low vision students with special needs the opportunity to create a piece of communal art that teaches them an important lesson in the history of the United States. The special scissors will allow the students the freedom to work independently and practice their motor skills as well as show off their creativity. Our school does not have art classes and it is important for the students to be able to learn about the possibilities of Art in remembering the past and expressing their hopes for themselves and the future. The various types of felt will lend a variety of textures to the quilt squares that the students will be able to feel.
