The students in my classes are required to have an SAE project, or Supervised Agricultural Experience. They can choose any project that they want as long as it relates in some way to the fields of agriculture, food, and/or natural resources. Each student has to keep updated weekly records on their projects which include financial records, time spent, activities completed, etc. Our school subscribes to an online record keeping program for students to use to keep up with their records, but I currently do not have access for every student in my class to the internet or a computer to keep up with their records. In addition to the record keeping, students also complete a number of online certifications in food quality and animal production. Again, this activity takes time because I don't have access for all of my students at the same time. These certifications help students to obtain jobs and be able to participate in competitions with their SAE projects. This class set of Chromebooks would be a deal changer for my classes. We would all be able to have a instant internet access to complete their record keeping and online certifications.
