These learning centers and magnetic letters are basic items that every 1st grade class needs to become fluent readers. Unfortunately, I do not have them in my classroom. Many of my students are at least one to two grade levels behind. Many do not have the phonemic and phonological awareness that is needed to learn to read. My students will love working in these visually stimulating and relevant learning centers. The centers will be used daily during independent practice time. I don’t have a small whiteboard for my desk, so when I am working with a small group they need lots of visual models that will help them succeed!
