There is a big emphasis on using technology as a resource to help students develop necessary skills in language arts and math. The problem is, the number of computers are extremely limited in each classroom and they are quite old. These older computers are hardwired and do not offer mobility either. With a set of new Fire 10" tablets, learning apps like i-Ready and Reflex Math can be downloaded to the tablets, giving the students a modern touchscreen interface they are much more accustomed to from anywhere in our classroom! In addition, my students who are struggling writers can dictate their ideas to the tablet and then admire their ideas in writing! The tablets can be used as digital dictionaries and thesauruses too!
