Many students in our school love to watch superhero films. They have the backpacks, lunchboxes, graphic novels, and action figures. Although they love these films, they are unaware of the production process of using a green screen behind these films. That is why I would love to bring Hollywood Magic into our school. Implementing a green screen into a classroom will allow myself and the entire school to truly finalize a student-created project. Did your students learn about the water cycle today? Let's insert a video of the water cycle onto the green screen and have your students discuss it. Did your class read a play that they really enjoyed? Let's use the green screen to have them act out and recite the play; we can put them inside Globe Theatre. Has one of your students enjoyed studying a historical figure? Let's insert an image of an event that their favorite historical figure was a part of and have them speak about that event. The magic will never end with the implementation of a green screen! Having a green screen can truly change how students create and teachers teach. Once production on the video is complete, the students can break down the four walls of their classroom and share this video with other schools in the district. Imagine how exciting and proud students would be knowing that their product is being shared with more than just their teacher. On the flip side, imagine how proud their teacher would be knowing that their students' work is being shared out. Something as simple as a bright green cloth can truly bring Hollywood Magic into our school.
