I believe that if my students could receive the book collections and the colorful library carpet that it would give them a special place to sit and read with their classmates. My students would have a bigger selection of books to choose from. Having more books to read at school would help those read more that do not have access to reading materials at home. Reading helps in the development of language/speech development and development of writing skills. Our classroom is not carpeted and we would love to have a colorful, awesome carpet to place in our library area. The look on their faces is priceless when the students come to me and want to tell me the story of what they read. It is amazing that children at this age love to read instead of sitting in front of a video game. In our classroom we do math stations and the math story books would really work great for a writing math station.
