In our class we have a variety of students from different cultural backgrounds, as well as students with special needs. It is crucial for my students to learn how to identify their own emotions and the emotions of others to fully understand and practice empathy. I will use the supplies I have asked for to teach and model how to identify and react to big emotions in little bodies. A set of Dealing with Feelings Board Book Collection paired with a Social Emotional Photo Library will teach my students what an emotion is and the different emotions every human can experience, including themselves. The Moods Emotions Mirrors and Hear Myself Sound Phone Set will be a great addition to my established social emotion Due to COVID-19 I will need to teach in small groups instead of whole group teaching, and therefore need a A Stand Up Magnetic Write Wipe Center, an Adjustable Pocket Chart Stand, and a Light Up Countdown Timer to help me move around the to accommodate all of my students different academic levels while practicing social distancing in the classroom.
