The materials I am requesting will help my students when their anxiety, anger, and emotions take control. Research shows that lap blankets are successful when used to calm students during stressful times. Other requested materials, such as Koosh balls, stress balls, Playdough, and fidget toys, will be also be used to reduce stress. I have also requested office materials to promote the counseling program at my school. I am also requestioning books by Trevor MacKenzie, titled Inquiry Mindset: Nurturing the Dreams, Wonders, and Curiosities of Our Youngest Learners, in order to do a book study with the staff in my school in an effort to encourage teachers to facilitate students in the art of fostering a growth mindset. I have also included a 6" brass ship bell to hang in our school office. The will be used to ring everytime a student is deserving of a celebration. It is intended to increase student motivation for both academics and behavior.
