Because of their limited communication skills, my students cannot let teachers or other students know what they want or need and become easily frustrated. They have trouble calming themselves when they become upset. They often run to an area where they feel calm and safe. They enjoy a quiet place to go, such as a break area, or under a table, when they need to calm down. The Lounge and Learn Hideaway will give students an appropriate space to go when they need a few minutes to calm down. It is a comfortable place to sit or lay down until they feel ready to come out and face the world!
