The tables and chairs will allow for more opportunities to work in a small group setting with peers or one on one with me. Collaboration is such a key to success and a tool that they will need for the future. I try to give my students the ability to move about in the class and not be seated at their desk all day. It will also lend itself to peer tutoring and peer conferences on different projects. With the larger class sizes it is difficult to find areas (other than the floor) for students to collaborate. This will give them an addtional work space withing the classroom.
