I know exactly how I would use "The Tell-Tale Heart" graphic novel and "Edgar and The Tattle-Tale Heart" that I am requesting in my English 7 class! My students are readers, and I want them to read as many different versions of this story as they can get their hands on during this unit of study before we begin writing our compare & contrast essay, which focuses on the details found within these different tellings of the same story. Two additional sources of "The Tell-Tale Heart" by Edgar Allan Poe at Halloween time would be perfect for rounding out my current unit! Seventh graders are not too mature for a picture book, and who doesn't love a fabulous graphic novel? I was inspired by a post I saw on Twitter that suggested teachers add a graphic novel and/or another form of text to their curriculum, and there they were: the graphic novel of this amazing spooky story and an adorable picture book featuring two little black ravens.
