My classroom is a structured learning environment that relies on positive behavior supports. My students earn free choice time so it's important to have fun and new items for them to play with. The K'nex, magnets, LEGOs are great tools for play and learning. My goal is to make my classroom rewarding and fun. Many of my students use reading as a coping skill. I've worked hard to create a diverse classroom library specific to their interests. I have purchased books second hand from thrift stores for my library. They love graphic novels like Captain Underpants, Dog Man, and Bad Guys so we are requesting some of these. It is rewarding to see a frustrated student decide to sit down with a book.
