Scholastic (math) subscriptions allow for something different in the classroom. It gives an opportunity for the teacher to incorporate the real world in a way that is OUT of the textbook. The engaging activities, pictures, and articles will increase learning and keep the math classroom a place that is engaging. These magazines can be used for whole class lesssons, for encouraging quick finishers to continue their math learning or for struggling math students to find a math connection that is not found in a normal day. I tell my kids every day that math is everywhere. Now I would be able to show them.
