Guided reading takes place in the classroom every single day to help enhance students' reading abilities. We meet as a whole group and as small groups throughout reading time. Meeting with my students in a small group format allows for me to instruct them based on their reading levels so that they are able to feel confident while they read! The stools will allow for my groups to meet at our classroom “rainbow” table and give each child enough room so I can spend time listening to each one read individually. When meeting together as a class for shared reading, the classroom rug will allow my students to have a comfortable meeting place while on the floor. And finally, the book bins will allow for me to organize each groups’ guided reading materials separately and transition between groups efficiently.
