These materials will be used for an after-school LEGO Club for students in grades K-6 and will run throughout the school year. They will provide an opportunity in which I can ignite my students' curiosity, helping them to develop essential communication, creativity, collaboration, and critical thinking skills in a fun and engaging way. At each club meeting, the students will be placed into teams and will be presented with a problem that they will need to solve, using the LEGOs. As they work to solve the problems, the students will also be developing important life-skills. They will learn how to communicate and collaborate with others who may have different opinions. They will learn that failure is a form of gathering data and among many other things, they will develop an understanding of how parts work together to make a whole.
