The materials and supplies that are being requested for our 4K classroom will greatly enrich the lives of the students who use them! Our classroom is situated in an urban part of Milwaukee, Wisconsin where a lot of our children do not get as many opportunities for exploration as suburban or rural schools. We have a very high percentage of children with special needs and our school is geared toward giving as many opportunities for all children to learn. I want to bring as much nature exploration into the classroom. Materials such as the window bird feeder will bring nature to our windows. They will be able to observe the insects and butterflies in resin. We are also in need of a literature rich environment for urban children. Many of our children in our school receive speech services and are very behind in their literacy development before even coming to school. Children will use the Letter Tubs on a daily basis to learn their letter sounds. The felt board and puppets will bring stories to life and ignite a love of reading. The clip boards and dry erase pockets will allow the students to practice their writing skills. The children will greatly enjoy and appreciate the new resources and materials for their classroom!
