With technology being the wave of the future, I still like to believe that paper still holds some value. I want to take some time to revisit the concept of print with my students and work on their literacy and reading skills. Using the Scholastic News magazine would be a fun and engaging way for my students. Students will be able to work on their literacy skills and be introduced to the concept of periodicals through the use of Scholastic News. They will know what periodical are and how they are used. Students will read and summarize the articles. In return, the students will be able to learn about different things around the world and issues through the use of this periodical. My prayer is they will also understand that reading doesn't always have to be from a book; there are other forms of media that from can be done though.
