I am always looking for ways to stimulate language and communication for my students in fun interactive ways. The materials I am requesting will help me create fun learning activities where my students won't even realize they are working on their IEP goals. Using colorful materials and fun games will focus on learning positional concepts and/or social skills. Dot markers are great for art projects during speech sessions. My students love the Pull Tubes. I only have two of them currently. Pull Tubes help with joint attention and turn taking; they make a fun noise too. Exposing students to new materials throughout the school year keeps them interested in the activities and encourages communication. Novel items can motivate and stimulate a student to reach or verbalize for the new toy. Having a variety of toys/activities during our speech sessions keeps students engaged.
