The donations to this project will help students with their current issue analysis. I love being able to show students recent political cartoons and articles about current world issues. The magazine also has corresponding videos that help students with context. This reading and viewing leads them up to writing an persuasive essay. This is a high interest magazine that my students actually want to read, and it helps them to be conversant in important world and national issues. Subscribing also provides me with access to a Civics and Media Literacy website that further provides help to engage students in government, citizenship, and media evaluation.
