My school is a public Montessori school in Dallas ISD. We have a very diverse population of students to whom we cater. In my art studio I compliment the Montessori method with the Teaching for Artistic Behavior (TAB/Choice Art) Curriculum. TAB/Choice Art is a method of teaching where the students are very much in control of their learning from conceptualizing their artwork to producing their product. TAB/Choice Art is about the thought process of creating, which is a skill that is lost in many areas of education. It is so beneficial and rewarding for the students to be able to learn to be creative in such a safe space. I am always looking for new materials with which the students can experiment and be creative.
