Support Mrs. Keira Hord's classroom with a gift that fosters learning.
When given a choice, students will be more dedicated to their own learning. Flexible seating allows for this choice. With that ownership, students will be more engaged in their collaborative and independent learning times. In order to create this type of environment where students are able to spread out and work, I am in need of a location where whole group learning can take place.
Every student should be given the opportunity to do their best work every day. Currently my classroom is all hard cold tile. This carpet area will provide a central location in front of the board where we can come together as a whole class to learn. With the size of eight year olds, it is harder to find a carpet large enough to seat them comfortably. This area will also allow me to have an alternative location to have small group lessons when the group is too big for the small group table.
This key piece will start transforming the classroom into a space where students can collaboratively be engaged in learning.
